This September marks the long anticipated release of Storm Shadow’s new ski/snowboard film “Water To Wine.” Two premieres are scheduled for the Gallatin Valley. The first premiere is Wednesday, September 8th at MSU’s Procrastinator Theater. Shows times at 830, 930, and 1030PM. The second premiere is Friday September 17th at Choppers Bar & Grill in the Big Sky Town Center. There will be an all ages show at 7PM and a 21+ show at 9PM. All tickets are available at the door. Filmed entirely in South West MT and featuring some of the area’s most innovative skiers and snowboarders, “Water To Wine” offers a rare glimpse of what these mountains have to offer. Highlights include: Collin Collins sun rise pillow line assault, Tizer DeMers’s and Luke Tanaka’s impressive single session segment shot entirely in one day at Great Divide, Shane Stalling’s all terrain destruction of everything shred, and steep and deep days at Big Sky & Moonlight like you have never seen it before! Recycle your Bomb Snow hand bills at the door and receive 10 free raffle tickets and a chance to win tons of great prizes; including a backcountry ski vacation from Montana Backcountry Adventures! This is not, however, your run of the mill action snow flick. As the name implies, “Water To Wine” strives for a higher purpose. Through something as simple and habitual as where we spend our dollar, the director attempts to enlighten and empower us to the strength we posses as consumers. The story follows a dollar through four Big Sky businesses(The Wrap Shack, True Value Hardware, Lone Peak Physical Therapy, and The Big Sky Community Corporation), and shows how by choosing to support these local businesses we ultimately support the social and economic health of an entire community. Everyone from the athletes in the film, to the business owners, their families, friends, to everyone sitting in the theater watching the film are affected. In the spirit of the film all the profit from the tour will be donated to the Big Sky Community Corporation and their efforts to build a community park/center in the town of Big Sky(see www.bsccmt.org for more info.). So come to MSU’s Procrastinator Theater on Wednesday, September 8th or Choppers in Big Sky Friday, September 17th for the premiere of “Water To Wine.” Tickets are $10 @ the door. Bring your friends to the show, get stoked for the snow, and help make Big Sky a little better for all of us.
